Lakeside Junior High supports Lakeside School District 's parental Involvement mission statement which includes:

  • Communicate information in a timely manner
  • Provide parent education and training
  • Coordinate and encourage community outreach

  • Identify and remove barriers to improve parental involvement

  • Phone Master System calls parents when student is absent and again on 6th and 10th day of absence; also used to remind parents of upcoming events and announcements
  • Meetings with parents for 8th Grade Orientation Night, Review of Test Data Meeting after state testing, and for EXPLORE data discussion of career plans with 8th grade counselor
  • Meeting for early college planning with parents
  • Open House dates
  • PIV- Parent Internet Viewer software allows parents to view junior high grades on the Internet from home

Ways to Improve your Parental Involvement at LJHS:

  • Talk with your child about school activities
  • Be aware of your child's schedule at school
  • Use available resources such as Lakesidesd.org for activity and schedule announcements
  • Get your student's ID to login to the Parent Internet Viewer on the website to keep informed on grades
  • Join and Participate in PTO
  • Volunteer at the school
  • Check out items on the Parenting Bookshelf in the library
  • Attend conferences and Open House Nights
